Crieff & Strathearn

As part of the Perthshire Big Tree Country Heritage & Access Project, Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) is launching a digital photography competition in the Crieff & Strathearn area. Winning entries will feature on new interpretation panels and a leaflet promoting the path network around the area.

Photographs will also be added to the Perthshire Big Tree Country website – www.perthshirebigtreecountry.co.uk – developed to showcase the amazing woodland heritage across the region.

Andrew Barrie, PKCT project officer said: “The competition is a fantastic chance to show off your photographs to a wide audience. The winning pictures will be a celebration of the natural beauty of the area.

“We are particularly looking for great shots taken from a number of sites forming part of the Crieff Path Network. These include paths along the River Earn (from Crieff to Muthill), Currochs (including the Lovers Walk near the Glenturret Distillery), Torlum (passing by the Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre) and the Hosh and Trowan. We’d also like to see stunning views of The Knock and Laggan Hill.”

Photographs from throughout the different seasons are encouraged, especially spring and autumn. Entries should include a maximum of five shots and can be submitted by email or CD.

Closing date: 20.03.09

Entries by email to: ajhughes@pkct.org

CDs to: Angela Hughes, PKCT, Pullar House (2nd floor), 35 Kinnoull Street, Perth PH1 5GD.
