Buchanty Spout

A dramatic waterfall on the River Almond.

In late autumn Buchanty Spout is filled with wild salmon as they fight there way up stream through the raging torrents. Please be advised that there is no formal path or viewing area, so please take care, particularly when it is wet underfoot.

Glen Almond, to the east of Buchanty Spout, has gentle country roads perfectly suited for leisurely cycling.

For the more energetic, tackle the short steep hill road – south of the Spout – to the tiny village of Fowlis Wester and St Bean’s Church.
