Scottish Plant Hunters Garden

This important new ‘national landmark’ garden pays tribute to over 120 plant collectors of Scottish descent.

Information

It lies on a hillside next to Pitlochry Festival Theatre, with panoramic views over the town and surrounding hills.

More than just a garden, the area also combines dramatic and visual arts to provide an entertaining and informative journey around the world.

Each of the main Scottish Plant Hunters has a dedicated area of the garden with plants collected by them from different areas of the world. Thus the southern hemisphere section features species introduced by Archibald Menzies, whilst the work of David Douglas is acknowledged by a pavillion made from Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii).

Wheelchair accessible facilities include ramped paths to all main areas.
